Free Printable Matchbox Valentines
Today I’m sharing these free printable matchbox covers for Valentine’s Day. Print them, cut them out and wrap them around matchboxes. Stick the sides together on the underside of the matchbox with some sticky tape.
Inside the little drawer you can put candy or non-edible gifts like keychains, earrings, necklaces, hair pins, a USB flash drive with photos of you two, or anything tiny that you think your Valentine will like.
To make these matchbox Valentine’s all you will need is:
Supplies needed
- A printer (here is the printer I use)
- Scissors or a craft knife and cutting mat
- The download (get that below)
- Normal printer paper
- Adobe Reader
- Sticky tape
- Matchboxes
- A gift to place inside
I included romantic and non-romantic messages on the matchbox covers so you have the freedom to give them to anyone you like.
P.S. You might also like this free printable Valentine’s Day card and printable mini envelopes I shared previously.

I used these this year and put Swedish fish in one, zinc tablets in another (anything to fight the flu!), and quarters for the laundry machines in another (my boyfriend has to use the laundry mat right now). I even kept one matches cause we need those in the house anyway, why not have them in a cute box! Thanks so much for the cute idea!

Once cool, use a pencil to draw large hearts on the wax paper envelopes, and then cut out hearts. (I was surprised how easy it is to cut the wax paper with melted crayon inside.) Initially, I was going to trace prefect’s hearts, but I decided to freehand them and let my daughter cut them out.
