Hey guys! I’m starting a new series on this blog to document my month. To see what went well, what didn’t, what I’m reading, watching, listening, etc. I want to share a bit more of me on my blog because I think it’s important that you guys get to know the person behind this blog. I’m a human, really!

What I’m reading
I just completed “You are a Badass: How to stop doubting your greatness and start living an awesome life” by Jen Sincero.
One of my biggest takeaways from this book is that I need to improve my mindset. I’ve realised that I’ve fallen into a negative mindset lately. Doubting myself and my abilities. Not loving myself. I still have a lot of issues to work through so I’ll probably read this book again.
At the moment I’m reading Manage your day to day: build a routine, find your focus, and sharpen your creative mind.
I’ve already started implementing one of the ideas from the book and that’s using a pomodoro app to work for 45 minutes and then take a break for 15 minutes. This is said to increase your productivity. The book recommends 90 minutes working and 5 minutes break time, but I find it hard to wind down in only 5 minutes. I work so intensely for those 45 minutes that it takes me a while to decompress. I’ve only just started working like this so we’ll see how it goes!
What I’m watching
See No Evil on Netflix
Korean Odyssey on Netflix
What I’m listening to
The soundtrack of Korean Odyssey. I fell in love with the music from the series and purchased it from iTunes.
What I’m loving
The rain! We live in a water scarce area (Gordon’s Bay, South Africa) and are restricted to using only 50 liters per day per person. Now that’s it’s winter and rain season we’ve been getting much needed rain. I’m so thankful!
What I’m learning
I’m taking the Watercolor: loose florals class by Peggy Dean on Skillshare. I’ve been on a mission to learn how to pain watercolour florals and this class is everything I wanted to learn.
What I’m working on
I’m working on a secret project that I can’t wait to share with you. It involves monthly planning 🙂 All will be revealed at the end of this year!
This month I took a week off to visit my parents at their new house. They now live only 3 hours away from me. It used to be 13! I was so excited to see my dog, Griffon, and cat, Gemmie. It was a relaxing week of no internet (their WiFi hasn’t been set up yet), reflecting, coffee shop visits and eating. My mom always spoils us with homemade meals and desserts 🙂
What was my best moment this month?
Asking for help.
What was my lowest moment this month?
Being too scared/embarrassed to ask for help and suffering in the process.
What made me happy this month
Cuddling with my animals.
That’s it: my June 2018 in a nutshell!
I always love to hear from you. Leave me a comment below!
