Don’t have time to create your own bullet journal monthly spread? Download these free premade monthly calendar templates for your bullet journal to save you time!
While Bullet Journals are a great tool for getting organized in your life, they can also be extremely time-consuming to set up. But what if you could enjoy the functionality and flexibility of a Bullet Journal without having to spend so much time creating each individual page?
This is where printable bullet journal pages can help you!
One of my favorite printables to get started with is the monthly spread. This is a layout you will often find yourself using. However, you can save yourself at least 15 minutes per month by using a printable instead of drawing the whole calendar out month after month.

These printable monthly calendars give you a great starting point for your monthly layouts and they are free for you to use.
How To Use This Free Printable Monthly Calendar
Supplies needed:
- A5 paper (plain) or pre-punched
- A5 notebook or A5 ring binder
- 6-hole punch (for A5 binders)
- Double-sided tape (to stick pages to your journal)
- Washi tape and stickers for decoration (optional)
- Paper trimmer (if needed)
- Sticker paper (optional)
Step One: Download The File
Please note this undated printable calendar is in a PDF format and comes in two versions. One version starts on Mondays and the other starts on Sundays.
Keep scrolling down to download the PDF.
I recommend downloading both versions so you can have them on hand if you ever decide you want to switch what day your monthly calendar starts on.
Step Two: Print The File
These printables are A5 size to fit A5 Bullet Journals and notebooks. Load your printer with A5-sized paper.
Open the PDF file in Adobe Reader or Mac Preview. Go to File – Print. The printer settings window will open.
When you print your monthly spread, make sure to set the scale percentage to 100% in the print pop-up window. This is to ensure that it prints at the correct size.
Step Three: Cut The Page
Once you have the printable printed, you might need to trim the page down to size. You can do this using scissors, however, I recommend using a paper trimmer to get a smooth, consistent cut.
Step Four: Add The Page To Your Bullet Journal
If you are using a standard A5 notebook, the most popular size for Bullet Journals, you can either glue or double-sided tape to stick the printable onto the page in your notebook.
If you want a more decorative look, you can instead use washi tape on the edges.
If you are using an A5 binder, then simply punch the holes in the printable and add it in.

Step Five: Set Up & Decorate
The monthly calendar comes undated so that you can use the printable more than once. This means you will need to add the dates in for the month.
You can also decorate the spread by adding stickers, washi tape, doodles, etc.

What do you write in a monthly calendar planner?
For every new month, you will have different things you can write down in your monthly calendar spread. This can include things such as:
- Appointments
- Important Dates (i.e. birthdays, events, play-dates, etc.)Â
- Deadlines
- Work Schedule
- Task List
- Monthly Goals
- Reminders
These are the traditional things you can include, however, I encourage you to get creative with how you use these planner pages.
For example, you can use your monthly spread to plan meals for the month ahead, track daily habits, log your mood or sleep scores, track your daily steps, and more.
